Trama: A Perfection, una località del Nevada la terra si sussulta misteriosamente, mentre il deserto è attraversato a velocità spaventosa da gigantesche zolle di terreno. Sottoterra vivono giganteschi vermi dai tentacoli dentati, impazienti di uscire alla luce del sole, le loro scorribande sotterranee, però devastano il territorio in cui vivono Val McKee ed Earl Basset, che ingaggiano una lotta all'ultimo sangue con questi spaventosi mostri.
